In Africa the white people had settled in the Southern-most part where the climate is cool and plenty of farming land. These were people known as "Boers" who came to settle from Holland and Europe. I believe it was part of what was called "Rhodesia" or now known as Zimbabwe. There was a writer (Bosman) who wrote in a small book "Unto Dusk" that I remembered reading.
The story was told about a white settler killed by a "Kafir" ( tall Africian native - same size like the white people) or warrior who were the cattle men until they lose their grazing ground to the settlers. So their war was about the land.
One incident occurred when a white settle was killed by an ambush. In return the native Kafir was shot by another who was hidden in the bush. Their corpses laid side by side in the bush, and the animals had came to devour the flesh. Nothing remained except the white skeletons of two fighters - one black another white. However when the bones were concerned it was altogether shinny white; nothing left of the flesh.
The family of the white man came back to look for the remains. Surprise at what they saw; there were the bones of two skeletons as the Man who shot the Kafir located the place where they were lain, however unable to distinguish the white from the black!
So the family took home to bury all the skeleton in the single grave marked with the name of the white person. There was nothing they could do about it; as the DNA testing did not existed yet.
The point I made is this: what does it means when death made us all the same? It's "Unto Dusk" again! Will those who claimed anything count in eternity?
