Introduction: What exactly is a Christian?

[edit] As a Christian in our walk and talk

After so many years as a Christian myself, i find that the Christian is NOT as a stereotype of personality, it is more like a jig saw puzzle from many pieces seemingly unable to be arrange together as one Big picture. I often heard someone asking me about simple question like: "Can a religious good person from another faith goes to heaven?"... "Do you think God will punish good people?" .." "Can a person be saved if such a person is only a nominally believer?" "Is there any other way to be saved?" and so on.

In conclusion when i tried to bundle all of these questions together: that there is one way to do it go find Jesus and his claims upon which your own destiny will be..<: A Christian is a believer and that belief is centered upon the ==claims of Jesus=== as the Messiah and the One who is God-in-the-Man who historically as the Man ==Jesus== who became the sacrifice of God so that the way to God and heaven is made clear and so convincingly that anyone who chooses to follow those claims , is really following the ==invisible presence and spirit of Jesus== here on earth.

My whole point of my writings here at Sgwiki is to make sense with all those pieces putting together and linking them as one whole system for walk and talk as a Christian or disciple of Jesus in the 21st Century now-here.

[edit] As any vital Christian living in this 21st century

such a person can live and exhibit forth as a humble,
==’’’witness and follower’’== in sync with the teachings and Spirit of Jesus the Christ the man who came from heaven.

And at ==home== in the family as a mother or father building the kind of family that attracts others in our local community towards the beauty of our peaceable creed and belief. There is no need to enforce our belief via underhanded methods or manipulations or even violence, religion as good and healthy never need such underhanded methods. The sweet aroma of life itself alone will attract just those flies, as well as any living being living in close proximity. The good we learned to share, and the unselfish way we have lived plus whatever good causes we proposed besides, having been showing forth as ".c.h.r.." are the real causes as to the whys such a commune of living things around gravitating towards the sweet smelling honey inside each little bud. A Christian maybe an overcomer, however there’ re no reason for such a lonely bird in a cage for wanting to fly out, provided it is given that opportunity for flying into the open skies of opportunity as guided by the inward instinct to be a

”witness to the world”.

Image:Bird 2.gif..Image:Bird 2.gif.. Whether at home or working out or living among others, a Christian's walk and talk always is seen by others. There is no hiding or lying about our looks and behavior, for i still practice and believe that honesty is still the best policy.

As a vital Christian living inside a community the role he play certainly will be pro-active and can help enhance both the morality and uplift the spirit of others towards a much healthier way of freedom of our expression which is far nobler than through the ugly side of revolution and wars as motivated by a history of greed for control of the wealth and resources of others around. The more equal world of a living community is certainly the highlights of the teachings of Jesus himself found in the “beatitudes” as He also walked and talked among his people and those close followers known as the early disciples.

{{trying to make sense}}

Unless a Christian has cultivated a genial sweet positive personality with an obvious attractive face (all smiles most of the times!), and acquired excellent (A+ plus) inter-personality skills (like the SIA or hotel reception girls for guests) generally everyone of us as Christians are at first impression not friendly or approachable ppl!
Yes and no!, all Christians are not stereotypes or robotically alike, but individual with their own likes and dislikes plus their personality (or character)

[edit] Why we are like durians

Image:Durian3.jpg..

Christian or Christians are just like durians. We can hate them and love them all at the same time! They all smells like rotten death and vibrant living all at once! If someone throw the durian leftovers downstairs for some cleaners to pick the next day, it will smell like rotten dead stuffs. That's how you feels about it, isn't it? One man's meat is another poison!

However, when your friends asked you to join in for the durian party,it really smell bad but taste yummy! That's why it both Love and hate

  • So what exactly constitute a Christian? A believer-lol but more to it-lah! He or she or even a shim can be a Christian when the person accepted Jesus as Savior and Guru (Master or Lord) for living know-how (that's a fine technic, U_know?). That is indeed a strange alien! However, it's altogether another different issue with repentance for a wrongly sex-oriented deviate. Homosexuals are not natural but cultivated! This is not the natural order for people at the bottomline conclusion! All of us who repent can be saved there is no discrimination here.
  • Right well, you're right, an alien of a sort of different world <both living and death> that's is why they always seem to be so polite and kind when you never expect to do anything for you and yet they help you!
  • They treated you like humans (with dignity) not some unwanted criminals or animals or beggars ! BTW who need their help anyway(!), so you said, maybe we always will need when we are here on this crowded earth! Just your turn may not come by yet!
  • be careful, I am Alien too. a local durian..hehehe!165.21.154.108 09:52, 29 Apr 2005 (SGT)

[edit] Definition

A Christian is one who is a believer and a follower of the teaching of Jesus as found in the Bible and especially in the four gospels <Matthew, Mark, Luke and John>

  • Originally the believers at Antioch who also were known as followers of the Way were first named Christians.
  • The name Christians who followed the religion , Christianity has adopted it as a family religion, and many people were born under such Christian families by culture also designated themselves as Christians, though they may not adhere strictly to the teachings of Jesus Christ as followers like the early disciples do

[edit] Further Notes on Christian

The term "Christian" is variously defined among different Christian groups. Some people, including many born-again Christians, believe that a Christian is one who believes and follows Jesus and repents of their sins, though the proof of this is found in agreeing to the doctrines set forth in the Bible, and doing what it says. Still others, such as Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics and many Protestants, believe that a Christian is one who is a member of the church, which one enters through the sacrament of baptism. In this way, infants who are baptized may also be considered Christians. Certain denominations, such as the Churches of Christ and Independent Christian Churches teach that adult baptism is the transition from non-Christian to Christian, and so define a Christian as one who has been baptized as a repenting adult.

The first known usage of this term can be found in the New Testament of the Bible, in [[2]]: "the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." The term was thus first used to denote those known or perceived to be [disciples]] of Christ. Similarly, in the two other New Testament uses of the word (Acts:26:28,31) and (|1 Peter 4:16, 31), it refers to the public identity of those who follow Jesus.

As a noun, Christian (Gr. Χριστιανός ) and variant (Χρηστιανός), [Strong's G5546] is an appellation deriving from the name "Christ" and is derived from the Greek noun Christos which means "anointed one," itself a translation of the Hebrew word Moshiach or "Messiah". Many people associate the word "Christ" exclusively with Jesus. However, as this identification is not accepted within Judaism, in Hebrew Christians are called "Nazarenes" (Notzri), because Jesus was from the province of Nazareth.

For many, "Christian" also means to be a member or adherent of one of the organized religious denominations of Christianity. As an adjective, the term may also describe anything associated with Christianity.

[edit] "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?"

A QUESTION BY A KING..who was almost persuaded by Paul the Apostle, but in the final outcome, he goes against those Christians and persecuted them..one can usually see the true or genuine Christians by their heart belief, those with head or rationale believers usually get to be tested by time and when problems, difficulties or even persecutions come along, they usually fall away by the wayside..

[edit] in many societies to be a Christian is to be an Overcomer or another kind of alien standing out in contrast with the world around

..A Christian justifiably does not wanna to conform with the the evil or the hidden dark side of the world around..

"walk in the Light as He is the light of the world"..

“The odds against a universe like ours emerging out of something like the Big Bang are enormous. I think there are clearly religious implications,” says Stephen Hawking in Francis Collins’ book The Language of God. “It would be very difficult to explain why the universe would have begun in just this way except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us.”

“I have more money that my grandchildren’s grandchildren can spend.” –Country superstar GARTH BROOKES

“I’m very religious,” LADY GAGA told larry king. “I was raised catholic. i believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I’m very spiritual. I pray very much. But at the same time, there is no one religion that doesn’t hate or speak against or be prejudiced against another racial group or religious group, and/or sexual group. for that, i think religion is also bogus. so i suppose you could say i’m a quite religious woman that is very confused about religion. and I dream and envision a future where we have a more peaceful religion or a more peaceful world, a more peaceful state of mind for the younger generation. and that’s what I dream for.”
