[edit] M'sia a Democratic State?

At the end of the day, there is going to be one winner and one loser. Just remember one thing, they are both Malaysians, whatever the outcome, it is just one Malaysian having lost to a fellow Malaysian. Whoever the victor or loser, it is still going to be a victory to Malaysia in the sense that we have once again demonstrated to the world that the process of democracy is still alive in Malaysia. It is time to demonstrate to the world that not only do we practise democracy but civilized gentlemen democracy. (Outcome of the election is still unknown in Hulu Selangor where the BN versus PKR):[[User:Terry|wowowow|]] 12:15, 25 April 2010 (SGT) B.N. won the election in Hulu by-election..then again..

The Barisan National lost the election to DAP candidate in Sibu via a small margin of 398 votes..no quite a loss yet? hehehe..

[edit] In the Philippines

As a Democratically elected State in the Philippines, there's no problem with democracy operating as a constitutional good system, of course there are other problems : over-population, corruption & who doesn't have problems?
Spore..hehehe..wait & see we ve problems as soon as it became an entity..ask Lau Lee!

[edit] What then is a democratic State or Country?

In order to understand the process of the making of a democratic State, we have to dig into the history when the common idea dawn upon humanity. The Greek had their thinkers and many of those so-called "Philosophers" like Aristotle and Plato and such men (no women BTW) came out with the idea of establishing a peaceful reign instead of having many petty small wars among the numerous warring states. It was just like in the life & times of Confucius, and perhaps when they gathered together and talk about "how best ran and rule to achieve harmony with peace and unity" then they serendipitously strike the concept of ruling via the opinions of the masses. That in a nutshell formed the core of initial democratic state. The wars that were fought were useless and often for the vanity of one strong king with another petty chieftain or some rebel cults. "Why don't we like men all men talk and settle this peaceful on a large scale?"

So the Athenians were famous because somehow somewhere they hit on the correct idea, and since the Romans, the French and then the modern American follows suit. It was almost all credit to the old American President who label it in one sentence: ==

[edit] It's by the people for the people and of the people

Obama was also brutally honest about corruption and dictatorship. "No country is going to create wealth if its leaders exploit the economy to enrich themselves or the police can be bought off by drug traffickers. No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20% off the top... That is not democracy. That is tyranny even if you sprinkle an election in it," he chided. "Africa does not need strong men, it needs strong institutions," he said.
