The myth of the White Rajah
- The rajah is a chief or local King such as the Chieftain of a river tribe in a certain area.
Among the natives of Sarawak the people practices and believes in many spirits in a jungle world full the unknown. Many of such mysteries in the jungles are assumed to be in control by the datohs or the counterpart of the rajahs in the actual world of the living.
Among the Ibans, the Dayaks and other tribal people the white Rajah was a myth created to give credentials to James Brooke who was the first white man to subdue the warlike fighting spirit by defeating them in several physical conflicts.
Whereas in Singapore, the founder Sir Stamford Raffles who made it an English colony where it was barely a rocky Island of no importance became an entreport trading post and had achieved the status global city.
The spirit of the White Rajah may not be worshipped but definitely alive among the local people in Singapore who still believe in the fact the White Rajah can be utilized to bring forth new and innovative concept into realities such as by being CEOs who are still revered like the White Rajahs the white westerners from American and elsewhere!
Sarawak a place for tourists to go and explore... Spirit or spiritual is not what we can observe scientifically but it is as mysterious as the existence of life and the universe. They do exist but to be proven, there is no exact science or scientific method.
- Sometime our attitudes are determine by our moods and spirits!
- So-called Para Science or Metaphysical Science are considered as a complete classification differing from objective and observable scientific method.
Spiritual things are obvious to spiritual minded persons and believers, but most skeptics would somehow deny the existence of such things though they have no absolute certainty or even enough proofs that they are but just imaginations. see current events
- Jesus spoke of the spiritual realm <unseen things> in born again by way of show an illustration of the wind. Wind blows but can you see it unless there are things that are affected by the blowing force like the tops of tree. Wind cannot be seen in the upper regions of the stratosphere. It is somewhere in the higher region of the atmosphere but the planes flying up there know and calculate according by the instruments which can detect the speed upper atmospheric wind or currents.
- with some people , it is foolishness to fancy there are such things as spirits

[edit] THE SPIRIT
[edit] Story of the King with the Spirit's touch
Money-mindedness is the total mindview of money as All-in-everything worldview expressed by money outlook: for instance -
- the crazy canucks wanted to mint the million-dollar gold coin ..hehehehe!
It's the size of a big Pizza and very, very heavy.. but how in the world are we to circulate it as common currency?
We need a cart to carry-it-along!
Singaporeans are money minded too..whois not yea??
..ta-ta, so read our story..
King Midas had one little daughter, whose name was Marigold.
King Midas was very, very rich. It was said that he had more gold than any other king in the world.
One room of his great castle was almost filled with yellow gold pieces.
At last the king grew so fond of his gold that he loved it better than anything else in all the world.
He even loved it better than his own little daughter, dear little rosy-cheeked Marigold. His one great wish seemed to be for more and more gold.
One day while he was in his gold room counting his money, a beautiful fairy boy stood before him.
The boy's face shone with a wonderful light, and he had wings on his cap and wings on his feet. In his hand he carried a strange-looking wand, and the wand also had wings.
"Midas, you are the richest man in the world," said the fairy. "There is no king who has so much gold as you." "That may be," said the king. "As you see, I have this room full of gold, but I should like much more; for gold is the best and the most wonderful thing in the world."
"Are you sure?" asked the fairy.
"I am very sure," answered the king.
"If I should grant you one wish," said the fairy, "would you ask for more gold?"
"If I could have but one wish," said the king, "I would ask that everything I touch should turn to beautiful yellow gold."
"Your wish shall be granted," said the fairy. "At sunrise to-morrow morning your slightest touch will turn everything into gold. But I warn you that your gift will not make you happy."
"I will take the risk," said the king.
The next day King Midas awoke very early. He was eager to see if the fairy's promise had come true.
As soon as the sun arose he tried the gift by touching the bed lightly with his hand.
The bed turned to gold.
He touched the chair and table.
Upon the instant they were turned to solid gold.
The king was wild with joy.
He ran around the room, touching everything he could see. His magic gift turned all to shining, yellow gold. The king soon felt hungry and went down to eat his breakfast. Now a strange thing happened. When he raised a glass of clear cold water to drink, it became solid gold. Not a drop of water could pass his lips. The bread turned to gold under his fingers. The meat was hard, and yellow, and shiny. Not a thing could he get to eat. All was gold, gold, gold.
His little daughter came running in from the garden.
Of all living creatures she was the dearest to him.
He touched her with his lips.
At once the little girl was changed to a golden statue.
A great fear crept into the king's heart , sweeping all the joy out of his life.
In his grief he called and called upon the fairy who had given him the gift of the golden touch.
"O fairy," he begged, "take away this horrible golden gift! Take all my lands. Take all my gold. Take everything, only give me back my little daughter."
In a moment the beautiful fairy was standing before him.
"Do you still think that gold is the greatest thing in the world?" asked the fairy.
"No! no!" cried the king. "I hate the very sight of the yellow stuff."
"Are you sure that you no longer wish the golden touch?" asked the fairy.
"I have learned my lesson," said the king. "I no longer think gold the greatest thing in the world."
"Very well," said the fairy, "take this pitcher to the spring in the garden and fill it with water. Then sprinkle those things which you have touched and turned to gold."
The king took the pitcher and rushed to the spring. Running back he first sprinkled the head of his dear little girl. Instantly she became his own darling Marigold again, and gave him a kiss.
The king sprinkled the golden food, and to his great joy it turned back to real bread and real butter.
Then he and his little daughter sat down to breakfast. How good the cold water tasted! How eagerly the hungry king ate the bread and butter, the meat, and all the good food!
The king hated his golden touch so much that he sprinkled even the chairs and the tables and everything else that the fairy's gift had turned to gold.

The human brain, a 3-pound mass of interwoven nerve cells that controls our activity, is one of the most magnificent--and mysterious--wonders of creation. The seat of human intelligence, interpreter of senses, and controller of movement, this incredible organ continues to intrigue scientists and layman alike. Over the years, our understanding of the brain--how it works, what goes wrong when it is injured or diseased--has increased dramatically. However, we still have much more to learn. The need for continued study of the brain is compelling: millions of Americans are affected each year by disorders of the brain ranging from neurogenetic diseases to degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's, as well as stroke, schizophrenia, autism, and impairments of speech, language, and hearing.
Today, these individuals and their families are justifiably hopeful, for a new era of discovery is dawning in brain research. Powerful microscopes, major strides in the study of genetics, and advances in brain imaging devices are giving physicians and scientists ever greater insight into the brain. Neuroscientists are mapping the brain's biochemical circuitry, which may help produce more effective drugs for alleviating the suffering of those who have Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. By studying how the brain's cells and chemicals develop, interact, and communicate with the rest of the body, investigators are also developing improved treatments for people incapacitated by spinal cord injuries, depressive disorders, and epileptic seizures. Breakthroughs in molecular genetics show great promise of yielding methods to treat and prevent Huntington's disease, the muscular dystrophies, and other life-threatening disorders. Research may also prove valuable in our war on drugs, as studies provide greater insight into how people become addicted to drugs and how drugs affect the brain. These studies may also help produce effective treatments for chemical dependency and help us to understand and prevent the harm done to the preborn children of pregnant women who abuse drugs and alcohol. Because there is a connection between the body's nervous and immune systems, studies of the brain may also help enhance our understanding of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
Many studies regarding the human brain have been planned and conducted by scientists at the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Mental Health, and other Federal research agencies. Augmenting Federal efforts are programs supported by private foundation and industry. The cooperation between these agencies and the multidisciplinary efforts of thousands of scientists and health care professionals provide powerful evidence of our nation's determination to conquer brain disease.
To enhance public awareness of the benefits to be derived from brain research, the Congress, by House Joint Resolution 174, has designated the decade beginning January 1, 1990, as the "Decade of the Brain" and has authorized and requested the President to issue a proclamation in observance of this occasion.
Now, Therefore, I, George Bush, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the decade beginning January 1, 1990, as the Decade of the Brain. I call upon all public officials and the people of the United States to observe that decade with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this seventeenth day of July, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and ninety, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fifteenth.
