Ridhwan Azman is a Singaporean actor and singer. He is best known for his role in the Ah Boys to Men films.

Career

Azman first entered the industry when he joined Campus Superstar in 2009. He is better known for his role as Recruit Ismail in the Ah Boys to Men duology, which cemented his status as a teen idol in Singapore teen pop culture.

Azman is good friends with Jianhao Tan, and has co-starred in many of the latter's vlogs.

Controversy

Azman was arrested by the military police in July 2013, after he failed to report for the mandatory CMPB medical appointment. The incident was reported in Lianhe Wanbao.

On 1 August 2013, it was revealed that Azman's Chinese girlfriend, known online as Luna Aphrodite, had been the target of repeated domestic abuse from Azman. She shared photographs of injuries sustained from one incident of abuse (where Azman allegedly strangled and slapped her) with an unidentified friend, who leaked these photographs onto the internet. A storm of controversy erupted after the leak, and the incident was reported in Lianhe Wanbao and The Straits Times. Azman made repeated apologies on social media, while also alleging that Luna was also abusive in their relationship. No legal action was ultimately taken, and the couple broke up shortly after.

Azman was reported on STOMP for posting a tweet laden with vulgarities in response to a netizen who brought up the abuse issue, only a month after the incidents were made known.

In November 2013, Azman commented on the Messiah hackings, calling Anonymous a 'joke'. In retaliation, The Messiah hacked Azman's Twitter, Facebook, Hotmail, and YouTube accounts, posting warning messages.
