Good Evening Starborgling, 

I have completed the mass removal of various articles (including images) that were contributed by users 'Alien' & 'Terry How', that are marked as nonsense/gibberish/irrevelant pages, including those pages that were spam advertising by different users. 

As for certain schools, the School Teachers & the List of School Teachers, most of it were either outdated, blank, or with rubbish posted on it were also deleted because no one would do a search or lookup on it as most users in sgWiki would search for Bus & Train Articles. However, you may wish to start a new page or to do a cleanup. Further more, providing just external links does not make a complete article (as I had noticed on some school pages on sgWiki). 

As I'm experienced with bus articles, should there be any feedback about a user posting false information, they may approach me by sending a message using my User Talk page. 

Other than that, if you want to view the older messages, please click on the link to the Revision History. Also, you may wish to block those users that were mass created over the months for spam advertising purposes before the Captcha feature was installed.

:It's clear that those fake users are now dormant, so not much point in bothering to block them now unless and until any of them starts spamming again.

The IP address '173.245.53.244' that your computer is connected is being auto-blocked, because a recent wave of spammer account had been introduced to SgWiki to spam advertising.

When a spammer account in Sgwiki is being blocked by any SysOp user, in some cases, it automatically triggers the Autoblock function in Sgwiki (usually takes 1 or 2 days). It is a measure to prevent "would-be" spammers to create a new account in Sgwiki or to return to Sgwiki using that account to access SgWiki on their same IP address the computer is connected. The Autoblock function can only be unblocked by the SysOp user or leave it until it expires, not the account. For instance, there could be more spamming account created on a particular IP address. The Autoblock also affects other registered users as well, if not unblocked by any SysOps user.

Starborgling, for the trains sections, please do not add any category. I will add it accordingly to the respective best Ideals category after the improvements and updates of the sections. As I realised that you put the "Trains" Category, the definition of "Trains" is a car which runs on tracks. This does not applied to stations that you had did. I had removed accordingly and I will add in a suitable category to it. Thank You.

I had made the comparison of the Wikipedia page of Changi Prison and had noted your points. But however, if you wish to restore those deleted pages relating to Singapore, you may wish to do so or start a new page, but however, you may wish to do a cleanup on the page that had been previously deleted by me. I understand that some of the pages are being copied directly or indirectly from Wikipedia with broken links or unknown HTML code names reflected on the page (be it majority or minority of the page) that are too complicated to do the cleanup or it is known to be duplicated and hence it require deletion.

Also, there were also images & templates uploaded together with those gibberish/nonsense/advertising spam pages that requires deletion. You may wish to delete as well (some of the images that were displayed together with the deleted pages were since been deleted by me if you notice on the Deletion Log). Besides that, the broken redirect pages had all been deleted after the main directed pages were deleted.

Do note that sgWiki pages that are copied over from other sources such as Wikipedia (even that its related to Singapore) that contains excessive unreadable texts or irrevelant to the topic will be deleted. While deleting pages that are gibberish or nonsense added by the user 'Terry How' or 'Alien', you will also need to delete the pictures that were displayed on the page that you're going to delete.

However, its a good sign that the auto-spam creation of sgwiki accounts are gone with the new captcha feature. I hope those unused spam sgwiki accounts be permanently blocked.

I would also suggest a mass deletion feature for existing added pages that were either spam advertising, gibberish or nonsense. Instead of just mass deleting those recently added pages. This makes it easy for mass deletion instead of one-by-one.

:I agree that a mass-deletion feature would have been useful and it is a pity the "nuke" option only works for recent pages. I don't know whether such a thing exists in MediaWiki. Only Jason can fix such a thing, I think. Anyway, as it stands I think we have now between us got rid of the vast majority of the nonsense articles.

Starborgling, for the trains sections, please do not add any category. I will add it accordingly to the respective best Ideals category after the improvements and updates of the sections. As I realised that you put the "Trains" Category, the definition of "Trains" is a car which runs on tracks. This does not applied to stations that you had did. I had made the comparison of the Wikipedia page of Changi Prison and had noted your points. But however, if you wish to restore those deleted pages relating to Singapore, you may wish to do so or start a new page, but however, you may wish to do a cleanup on the page that had been previously deleted by me. I understand that some of the pages are being copied directly or indirectly from Wikipedia with broken links or unknown HTML code names reflected on the page (be it majority or minority of the page) that are too complicated to do the cleanup or it is known to be duplicated and hence it require deletion.

Also, there were also images & templates uploaded together with those gibberish/nonsense/advertising spam pages that requires deletion. You may wish to delete as well (some of the images that were displayed together with the deleted pages were since been deleted by me if you notice on the Deletion Log). Besides that, the broken redirect pages had all been deleted after the main directed pages were deleted.

Do note that sgWiki pages that are copied over from other sources such as Wikipedia (even that its related to Singapore) that contains excessive unreadable texts or irrevelant to the topic will be deleted. '''Hougang South Bus Interchange''' was a [[bus station|bus interchange]], located in [[Hougang Street 21]], which ceased operations on 13 February 2004. The interchange's structure continues to stand pending a major redevelopment of the site, and is currently called Kovan Hub. In the meantime, the vacated building is used to host exhibitions and for commercial purposes, and the bus lots as parking space.

The Hougang South Bus Interchange started operations as Hougang Bus Interchange, serving [[Hougang New Town]]. The new town, at that time was just four neighbourhoods, with large tracts to the northwest of Upper Serangoon Road still undeveloped. The commercial centre at Hougang Street 21 thus served as a town centre. From the 1990s, however, the town was rapidly expanded with five more neighbourhoods constructed, and a new, permanent town centre further north was built. As is the case for all other bus interchanges (except the [[Eunos Bus Interchange]]) in which they are located in their respective town centres, the Hougang Bus Interchange was to be moved to the new town centre, while the existing facility will be demolished. Its bus services were then amended to terminate at either Serangoon, Hougang Central or Punggol.

When this plan was publicised, it created an uproar amongst the local populance, particularly shopowners in Hougang Street 21. With the help of local politicians, the protests were made to the relevant authorities, resulting in a delay in the interchange's closure. The government was adamant on removing the interchange, however, as it insists it makes little sense to have two bus interchanges in one town, and the opening of the [[Kovan MRT Station]] on the [[North East MRT Line]] will help to continue bringing in the crowds. It proceeded to build a new, permanent interchange, known as the [[Hougang Central Bus Interchange]], and renamed the existing interchange as the Hougang South Bus Interchange. Although it no longer operates as a bus interchange, locals can still alight and disembark there as a bus stop.

Kovan Hub also serves as a transit stop for coaches to and from Malaysia with popular destinations such as Genting Highlands and Kuala Lumpur, most of which are of the Super VIP type.

I am grateful to Jason for making me an administrator. This is enabling me to delete a lot of pages that are either obvious spam or simply meaningless nonsense.

My vision for SGWiki is that it should provide added value that is Singapore-specific. There is no point in attempting to compete with Wikipedia for an article about every subject under the sun.

Articles that are about Singapore topics can provide more detailed information than would be accepted in Wikipedia, for instance about the local transport (buses and MRT trains), or Singapore schools.

I propose that, in many cases, articles on more general subjects could just give a summary, with a link to a reliable source (which could be Wikipedia in many cases), then a section covering aspects of the topic that are particularly relevant to Singapore.
