	Trans-Island Bus Service (TIBS) NightRider Service was first introduced on 10th March 2000 as a 3 month trial on service NR1. The aim of the NightRider Service is to provide a direct link from the downtown area of Singapore to the HDB heartland estates during the wee hours where public transport services were unavailable and as an alternative to ride-hailing options. 	Night Bus Routes were phased out from TIBS/SMRT Buses gradually, starting from services SS1 & SS2 on 18 December 2000, then the 13 new NightRider services on 3 December 2001, followed by weeknight services for NR1, NR5 & NR7 on 23 May 2004. On 30 April 2014, the 7 remaining NightRider services were converted from loop service to unidirectional service from the city to respective towns. NR7 was suspended from 4 January 2019 to 15 June 2019 for the On-Demand Public Bus trial, and subsequently withdrawn on 16 June 2019. 	All NightRider services were suspended from 8 April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, NR1 & NR2 was ~~handed~~ over to Tower Transit on 3 October 2021 and ~~was planned to~~ be renumbered to N1 & N2. ~~Because of~~ the drinking restrictions in public places after 10.30pm and the emergence of ride-hailing services (e.g. Grab), these night services did not resume operations and were withdrawn on 30 June 2022~~. The last day of operations was on 5 April 2020~~.<br>		All NightRider services were suspended from 8 April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The last day of operations was on 5 April 2020. 	Trans-Island Bus Service (TIBS) NightRider Service was first introduced on 10th March 2000 as a 3 month trial on service NR1. The aim of the NightRider Service is to provide a direct ~~linkage~~ from the downtown area of Singapore to the HDB heartland estates during the wee hours where public transport services were unavailable and ~~there were no~~ ride-hailing options ~~at that point~~. Following the success of the trial, 8 more routes were introduced on 26th May 2000, they were services NR2, NR3, NR5, NR6, NR7, NR8, SS1 & SS2.<br>		Trans-Island Bus Service (TIBS) NightRider Service was first introduced on 10th March 2000 as a 3 month trial on service NR1. In 2004, the TIBS NightRider was rebranded to SMRT NightRider following the merger of SMRT Corporation & Trans-Island Bus Service. 	Initially, the TIBS NightRider Services were charged at a flat fare of $3.00 ($1.50 for services SS1 & SS2) and commuters can enjoy free transfer to ~~another~~ NightRider services at a stipulated timeframe of 1 hour & 50 minutes. The fare was later revised to $3.50 on 16 May 2008 & $4.50 on 11 November 2011. The timeframe was reduced to 45 minutes on 1 July 2003. The ~~operating~~ hours were from 11.30pm to 3.10am on Fridays, Saturdays & eves of Public Holidays when Service NR1 was introduced, later extended to 11.30pm to 4.30am for all services (except 3.50am for service NR8) on 26 May 2000. Service NR8 was eventually extended to 4.30am on 9th March 2001. Weeknight services for NR1, NR5 & NR7 operated from 11.30pm to 3.30am. All services were revised to 11.30pm to 2am on 30 April 2014. 	Night Bus Routes were phased out from TIBS/SMRT Buses gradually, starting from services SS1 & SS2 on 18 December 2000, then the 13 new NightRider services on 3 December 2001, followed by weeknight services for NR1, NR5 & NR7 on 23 May 2004. On 30 April 2014, the 7 remaining NightRider services were converted from loop service to unidirectional service from the city to respective towns. NR7 was suspended from 4 January 2019 to 15 June 2019 for the On-Demand Public Bus trial, and subsequently withdrawn on 16 June 2019.		Night Bus Routes were phased out from TIBS/SMRT Buses gradually, starting from services SS1 & SS2 on 18 December 2000, then the 13 new NightRider services on 3 December 2001, followed by weeknight services for NR1, NR5 & NR7 on 23 May 2004. On 30 April 2014, the 7 remaining NightRider services were converted from loop service to unidirectional service from the city to respective towns. NR7 was suspended from 4 January 2019 to 15 June 2019 for the On-Demand Public Bus trial, and subsequently withdrawn on 16 June 2019.

	All NightRider services were suspended from 8 April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, NR1 & NR2 was handed over to Tower Transit on 3 October 2021 and was planned to be renumbered to N1 & N2. Because of the drinking restrictions in public places after 10.30pm and the emergence of ride-hailing services (e.g. Grab), ~~the~~ night services did not resume operations and were withdrawn on 30 June 2022. The last day of ~~operation~~ was on 5 April 2020.<br>		All NightRider services were suspended from 8 April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
