'''Alstom Metropolis C830C''' is the third generation of communication-based train control (CBTC) rolling stock to be used in Singapore’s [[Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore)|Mass Rapid Transit]] (MRT) lines along with Alstom Metropolis C751C. The S$134 million contract was awarded to Alstom (as part of turnkey contract C830C) by Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) to supply additional trains for the [[Circle Line]].
==Fleet Numbering==

The car numbers of the trains range from 841x to 864x, where x depends on the carriage type.
==Fleet==
*The last digit identifies the position of the car from the front end of the train; where ‘1’ represents first car, ‘2’ represents second car and ‘3’ represents third car.

**(Example) Passenger Vehicle 50 (also 850) would consist of 3 cars with serial number 8501, 8502, 8503 respectively.

*Depending on the direction of travel, the sequence may be reversed.
==Operation==
C830C trains run on an automated system (without attendant), relying on "continuous two-way digital communication" between each controlled train and the control centre that controls the entire line.

==Features==
===Design===
The C830C trains may include several features that are seen in C830 and C951 trains.<br>

Features include:
* an ergonomic seat profile;
* red reserved seats for clearer separation between normal and reserved seats;
* additional row of straphangers for steadier grip;

===Dynamic Route Map Display (DRMD)===
The dynamic route map display panels provide commuters for their journey status, route information, as well as which side the train doors will open on.

===Platform Gap Width Reduction (PGWR)===
Every train door has a rubber frangible gap that protrudes out which will narrow the platform gap, preventing passenger accidents due to the platform gap.

==Trainset numbers==
Individual cars are given a four-digit serial number by the rail operator, SMRT Corporation, numbers ranging from 841x to 865x, whereby "x" depends on the carriage type.

* The first digit is always an 8.
* The other three digits is the train identification number. A full length train of 3 cars will have the 3 different consecutive serial numbers. The second and third digits are used to identify the train set, while the last digit denotes the carriage of the train, ending with 1, 2 and 3 in a full length train.

Alstom Metropolis C830C are the second generation of trains running on the Circle Line. These trains were manufactured from 2014 to 2015 by Alstom Transport under the Contract 830C.

History

Alstom Transport was awarded Contract C830C in 2012 at a cost of $134 million for the construction of 72 passenger cars.[1]

Faulty Equipment

Passenger Vehicle 46 suffered from a faulty signalling hardware, resulting in intermittent signaling issues which caused widespread disruptions to the Circle Line for a week in both August and November 2016.[2]
