The '''Bombardier Innovia APM 100''' is a automated people mover rolling stock developed by Bombardier (formerly Adtranz). APM 100 vehicles are driverless and unattended. 19 units are in service on the Bukit Panjang LRT, and more are formerly used on the Changi Airport Skytrain until March 2006.
'''Bombardier INNOVIA C801''' are the first generation of trains running on the {{BPLRT}}.

These units (also referred to as vehicles) are rubber-tired, running on concrete tracks and are fitted with windows which turns near opaque whihin 6 metres of residential buildings.
==History==
The trains have been operating since the BPLRT opening in 1999. If such plans go through, it will be the first major overhaul for the train cars. The refurbished train cars will have upgraded air-conditioning and air compressors together with an improved braking system plus installing Close Circuit Televisions (CCTV) under each train car to monitor under the train cars. However, plans of replacing the train cars are not ruled out by LTA.

During peak hours, these vehicles can be coupled in pairs. Morning peak hours usually see these coupled units serving Service B, while during the evening peak hours, such units are not specifically assigned a certain route.

Bombardier INNOVIA C801 are the first generation of trains running on the Bukit Panjang LRT.

History

The trains have been operating since the BPLRT opening in 1999. If such plans go through, it will be the first major overhaul for the train cars. The refurbished train cars will have upgraded air-conditioning and air compressors together with an improved braking system plus installing Close Circuit Televisions (CCTV) under each train car to monitor under the train cars. However, plans of replacing the train cars are not ruled out by LTA.

Defects in the C801 rolling stock

Minor defects in the C801 rolling stock were found in 2015 during a routine assessment by Bombardier.[1] The main cause for such cracks, which was no larger than 12cm, were due to "normal wear and tear" and had since been repaired.

Replacement

On 7 March 2018, the Land Transport Authority awarded the contract for renewing the Bukit Panjang LRT system to Bombardier at a cost of $344 million. [2] Under the contract, all of the 19 C801 trains would be withdrawn from service, and replaced by the new C801B trains.
