Fajar LRT Station (BP10) is an elevated Light Rapid Transit (LRT) station on the Bukit Panjang LRT in Singapore. On the Bukit Panjang LRT, it is between Bangkit and Segar stations.
This station is located along Fajar Road. Fajar means "dawn" in the Malay language.
History
Before (and during) the erection of Fajar Station, residents of this part of Bukit Panjang Town were served by bus service 179 that called on the bus stop just next to the Fajar Station. This bus brought passengers around Bukit Panjang Town and towards the Choa Chu Kang MRT train station where they could transfer easily to the train system mentioned.
Bus service 179 has since been axed on 26th December 1999, one month after the opening of the station. Fajar Station, thus Bukit Panjang LRT, now caters to the residents living in the vicinity of the station and still brings passengers to the Choa Chu Kang MRT station.
