In June 2003, Singapore Land Authority (SLA) offered Chuan Park (a 99-year leasehold condo near the site of the station) residents $1 for 220m² of land, which comprised mainly car park lots. The land was necessary to build the [[Circle Line]]. The 99-year leasehold condominium at Lorong Chuan, off Serangoon Avenue 3, has 446 units, so the compensation works out to just 0.2 cents a household. Nominal compensation was paid as it takes into account, the increase in the market value of the condominium when the MRT station is built on the acquired land. The owners of Chuan Park have accepted the Government's compensation and the case is closed.
