DISCUSSION ENDED
!
The discussion had ended. The results will be release shortly.

Dear editors,

From the previous renaming exercise, we had delayed the renaming exercise for MAN ND323F and Alexander Dennis Enviro500. However, there is a mistake (an omission of a bus model that would also required to be rename for standardisation). With the intake of 3-door MAN ND323F coming soon, this discussion will since reopen.

The following models may be required for renaming:

  • Alexander Dennis Enviro500
    • Inclusion of door variants and/or euro emission
  • MAN NL323F
    • Standardisation changes
  • MAN ND323F
    • Inclusion of door variants and/or euro emission
  • Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit)
    • Split to include of euro emission (Euro I and Euro II)
  • Scania K230UB
    • Standardisation changes

Result[edit]

To all editors, some pages will be renamed according to the consensus.

  • MAN ND323F
    • Rename exercise will be conducted to include Euro emission.
      MAN ND323F (Batch 1) → MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 1)
      MAN ND323F (Batch 2) → MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 2)
      MAN ND323F (Batch 3) → MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 3)
      MAN ND323F (Batch 4) → MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 1)
      MAN ND323F (Batch 5) → MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 2)
    • No changes to the 3-door variant.
    • SG2017C will be listed in MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 3), however, when stated in deployment page, an 'asterisk' will be append behind. For example:
      SG2017C
      1 MAN ND323F (1 Euro V* Batch 3)
  • ADL E500
    • No changes to the 2-door variant.
  • Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit)
    • Rename exercise will be conducted to include Euro emission.
      Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) → Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Euro I) and Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Euro II)

Your Opinion Below[edit]

Opinion 1 (by Wekelwrady)[edit]

Good morning.

First of all, I would like to present my viewpoint of the sorting of the ND323Fs.

I was thinking of this arrangement:

(Euro V) (2-door) (Batch 1): SMB5888H - SMB5904U

(Euro V) (2-door) (Batch 2): SG5740C - SG5799J

(Euro V) (2-door) (Batch 3): SG5800M - SG5920A

(Euro V) (3-door): SG5999Z

(Batch 3-VI): SG2017C

(Euro VI) (2-door) (Batch 1): SG5921Y - SG5998B, SG6000Z - SG6171M

(Euro VI) (2-door) (Batch 2): SG6172K onwards

In this case, SG2017C will be tagged as a special batch, reallocated and isolated to a special page although it has the same bodywork as the Batch 3s but with Euro 6 emissions. Thus the combination of Batch 3 and Euro VI into 3-VI.

If the admins and our fellow users agree to such an arrangement for SG2017C, I believe this can pave the way to Euro Emission standardisation across all bus model pages. I look forward to hear some feedback about this.

Secondly, for the other models,

MAN NL323F can gladly follow the following standardisation with the MAN ND323F which I suggested as the above sorting, in which for example, SG4002G is (Euro V) (3-door).
Enviro500 can be labelled with solely Euro emissions since 2-door have Euro V emissions whereas 3-door do not have Euro V emissions.
Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) can be labelled with Euro emissions too.
Scania K230UB doesn't need any change in my opinion.

Finally, as I reiterate my standpoint, I do not regard SG2017C as a demonstrator, but I feel it should get a separate page of its own with a unique batch name, with exemptions from the euro emission standardisation. Thank you.

Side note(26 Jan 2021): 3-door A95s have been registered since yesterday, at a quantity of 8 as of present timing.

Opinion 4 (by Mailer diablo)[edit]

As mentioned before, get rid of the batches, go by evolution of the bodywork design as the basis. Otherwise nobody is going to be able to keep track of the fleet proper. See discussion.

1. Alexander Dennis Enviro500 MMC

  • Existing fleet to be retitled Alexander-Dennis Enviro500 MMC Mark I (Euro V).
  • 3-door fleet to be retitled Alexander-Dennis Enviro500 MMC Mark II (Euro VI, 3-Door).

2. MAN NL323F Lion's City SD

  • All Batch 1-3 to be retitled MAN NL323F Lion's City SD (Euro V, Gemilang Mark I).
  • SG4002G to be retitled MAN NL323F A22 Lion's City SD (Euro V, Gemilang Mark II, 3-Door).
  • All Euro VI units to be retitled MAN NL323F Lion's City SD (Euro VI, Gemilang Mark III).

3. MAN ND323F Lion's City DD/DD L

Lion's City DD and Lion's City DD L to be the differentiator between the length and 2-door/3-door.

  • Batch 1 and 2 to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD (Euro V, Gemilang Mark I).
  • SG5800M – SG5829G to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD (Euro V, Gemilang Mark II)
  • SG5833T, SG5834R, SG5841U, SG5847D, SG5850T – SG5852M, SG5854H – SG5879L, SG5884X – SG5888K & SG5902C to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD (Euro V, Gemilang Mark III)
  • SG5999Z to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD L (Euro V, Gemilang Mark II, 3-Door).
  • SG2017C to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD (Euro VI, Gemilang Mark III).
  • All Batch 4 and Batch 5 (i.e. production Euro VI) to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD (Euro VI, Gemilang Mark IV)
  • All production 3-door A95s to be retitled MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City DD L (Euro VI, Gemilang Mark IV, 3-Door).

4. MAN NG363F Lion's City GL

  • Rename as MAN ND323F A95 Lion's City GL. It is Gemilang Mark I bodywork.

5. Mercedes-Benz O405G (Habit).

  • No change or merge them all. Doesn't matter at this point.

6. Scania K230UB

  • No change, or at least merge the Euro V batches. The fleet is coming up for retirement soon anyway.

7. Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro.

  • All except SG4004B: Just merge them all as Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (Euro V). The SBST-spec fleet are all mechanically and aesthetically similar, to put them in Batches is redundant. The only differentiator should be the SMRT-spec and the SBST-spec. The SMRT ones are likely to be gone soon anyway.
  • SG4004B. To be retitled Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro C2 Hybrid (Euro VI)

Opinion 5 (by Litlah)[edit]

1. Alexander Dennis Enviro500 - no changes to Batches 1 & 2; add page Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door) for 3-door units.

2. MAN NL323F - no changes.

3. MAN ND323F -

I would like to suggest grouping them in the following manner:

MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 1): SMB5888H (Demonstrator); SMB5889E - SMB5904U

MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 2): SG5740C - SG5799J

MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 3): SG5800M - SG5920A

MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 1): SG2017C (Demonstrator); SG5921Y - SG6171M

MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 2): SG6172K - SG6282B

MAN ND323F (3-Door): SG5999Z (Demonstrator); SG6283Z - SG6332R

4. Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) - I agree with splitting them by Euro emissions. ie. Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Euro I) & Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Euro II)

5. Scania K230UB - no changes.

6. Furthermore, I would like to suggest reorganising batches for Volvo B9TL (Wright Eclipse Gemini 2) buses as Volvo B9TL (Wright) instead, according to low entry & low floor configurations, as well as SBS7500D as the demonstrator, in the following manner:

Volvo B9TL (Wright) (Low Entry Batch 1) - SBS7500D (Demonstrator); SBS7501B - SBS7686B excluding regs. containing the digit "4"

Volvo B9TL (Wright) (Low Entry Batch 2) - SBS7700T - SBS7729L

Volvo B9TL (Wright) (Low Floor Batch 1) - SBS3000G - SBS3238M, SBS3269Z & SBS3300R - SBS3329J

Volvo B9TL (Wright) (Low Floor Batch 2) - SBS3240E - SBS3268Z, SBS3270T - SBS3299L, SBS3330D - SBS3448Z, SBS3600A - SBS3986L

Volvo B9TL (Wright) (Low Floor Batch 3) - SBS1Z - SBS23K, SBS3449X - SBS3482Z, SBS3487K - SBS3523P, SG5000E - SG5185E, SG5300P - SG5610U

Thanks.

Opinion 6 (by Ihengheng)[edit]

My opinion is that emission standards should not define the naming of the pages. This is because there are pre Euro emissions buses as well as upcoming electric buses, which the emission standards do not apply to. As a result, I suggest keeping to the current differentiation method which is to split the pages based on the operator's or LTA's order. As for the naming of pages, the main differentiating feature such as bodywork, emission standard or number of doors etc can be included when applicable. This actually allows standardization since the page naming format can be defined as: Make & model (Main differentiating feature) (Batch No.).

  • Alexander Dennis Enviro500
    • No change to the existing pages.
    • 3-Door buses: Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door).
  • MAN NL323F
    • No change to the existing pages.
  • MAN ND323F
    • MAN ND323F (Batch 1) -> MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 1).
    • MAN ND323F (Batch 2) -> MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 2).
    • MAN ND323F (Batch 3) -> MAN ND323F (Euro V/VI) (Batch 3).
    • MAN ND323F (Batch 4) -> MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 1).
    • MAN ND323F (Batch 5) -> MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 2).
    • No change to the existing 3-Door page.
  • Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit)
    • Split page into Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Batch 1) and Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) (Batch 2)
  • Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro
    • Split Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (Batch SMRT) into Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (SMRT) (Batch 1) and Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (SMRT) (Batch 2)
    • Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (Batch 1) -> Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (SBST) (Batch 1).
    • Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (Batch 1) -> Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (SBST) (Batch 2).
    • Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (Batch 3) -> Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (SBST) (Batch 3).
  • Scania K230UB
    • No change to the existing pages.

Opinion 7 (by Razerboii)[edit]

  • Alexander Dennis Enviro500
    • A separate page titled Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door) will be created once these buses are registered.
    • The existing pages (2-Door) will remain status quo.
  • MAN ND323F
    • It will be more appropriate to group the 2-door variants by Euro emissions.
      • MAN ND323F (Batch 1) renamed to MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 1).
      • MAN ND323F (Batch 2) renamed to MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 2).
      • MAN ND323F (Batch 3) renamed to MAN ND323F (Euro V) (Batch 3).
      • MAN ND323F (Batch 4) renamed to MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 1).
        SG2017C to be moved to this page despite having Euro V Batch 3 interior and bodywork.
      • MAN ND323F (Batch 5) renamed to MAN ND323F (Euro VI) (Batch 2).
    • The 3-door page will remain status quo.
  • Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro, MAN NL323F and Scania K230UB
    • No further changes will be made to these pages.
