This was in reaction to the numerous deletionists in Wikipedia who would erase huge chunks of information and even complete articles on the grounds that they were not important enough for inclusion in a reference as "prestigious" as Wikipedia.

Roy Tan started all the Singapore LGBT-related articles in Wikipedia in 2005.

He later ported all the latter articles to SgWiki, PBWorks, Wikidot and Wordpress. This was in reaction to the numerous deletionists in Wikipedia who would erase huge chunks of information and even complete articles on the grounds that they were not important enough for inclusion in a reference as "prestigious" as Wikipedia.
