Yishun is a planning area and residential town situated in Singapore's North Region in its northeastern area. It has a land area of around 21.24km2, and ranks 8th, 7th and 20th in terms of size, population and density respectively. Yishun planning area is situated north of Ang Mo Kio, northeast of the Central Water Catchment, east of Mandai, south of Simpang and Sembawang, west of Seletar, and northwest of Sengkang.

Yishun is also known as Nee Soon by Teochew dialect, which was named after a Singapore merchant, Lim Nee Soon.

The planning area of Yishun is made up of 9 subzones, namely Yishun Central, Northland, Yishun East, Yishun South, Khatib, Yishun West, Nee Soon, Springleaf and Lower Seletar.
