|East West Line: There is no Train Service between Joo Koon and Gul Circle stations. Free Bridging Bus Services are available between Joo Koon and Gul Circle stations.
North South Line: Train Service will end at Orchard instead of Marina South Pier before 7am on Saturdays and Sundays and after 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Shuttle Train Services are available between Orchard and City Hall, and between Raffles Place and Marina South Pier during the affected period. Affected commuters may board the East West Line for train service between City Hall and Raffles Place.
East West Line: Train Service between Pasir Ris and Aljunied, and between Tanah Merah and Changi Airport will end at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and start at 8am on Saturdays and Sundays. Shuttle Bus Services are available between Pasir Ris and Aljunied, Tanah Merah and Changi Airport, Aljunied and MacPherson (Direct), and between Changi Airport and Bugis (Direct) during the affected period. Certain Bus Services connecting from the affected stations will also be extended on days of early closure.

On 22 March 2016, 2 SMRT maintenance trainees were killed after being run over by a terminating train reportedly travelling at about 60km/h at around 11.10am. They were part of a group of 15 personnel tasked to investigate a possible signalling system fault near the tracks of Pasir Ris Station. The incident took place 150m away from the station. This led to a 2.5 hour train service disruption between 11.10am to 1.56pm from Pasir Ris and Tanah Merah stations, and had affected at least 10,000 commuters.
