It is located in Tampines, Singapore, offering two-year pre-university courses leading to the GCE Advanced Level examinations. The academic standards of Serangoon Junior College had been improving consistently, as it gained recognition as one of the leading government colleges in the district.
TPJC began functioning as a centre of pre-university education on 11 April 1986. Pioneering teachers of the college held their first meeting in Tampines Primary School, while the first batch of students studied in a building which became Tampines Secondary School.
Tampines Junior College merged with Meridian Junior College in 2019 as announced on April 20, 2017. The merged school has been named as Tampines Meridian Junior College, which is a combination of the two schools' names, having the "older" school's name in front. The last principal, Ms Pamela Yoong took over as the new principal for Tampines Meridian Junior College.
