First announced by LTA on 16 June 2011, construction of the depot would commence at the end of 2012 and is expected to be an underground depot - the third in Singapore. As a result of the construction, the farm 'Orchidville' that previously occupied the site was acquired.<sup>[http://app.lta.gov.sg/corp_press_content.asp?start=2g8u06wb5lpg487lobzx9o7n1sfszjo7137e2b82kqgbb1lbm6 (4)]</sup> Prior to the acquiration, Orchidville was the largest orchid farm in Singapore.

It will serve the upcoming [[Thomson Line]] as the Operation Control Centre and provide stabling and maintenance facilities for the line's rolling stock.

SMRT Trains
  • From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. SBS Transit
  • From Sunday, 13 April 2025, bus service 135 will be amended to serve two new pairs of bus stops along Haig Road and one pair of bus stops along Dunman Road. Two pairs of bus stops along Tanjong Katong Road will be skipped. Please refer here for more information.
SMRT Trains
  • From Wednesday, 16 April 2025, bus service 902 will be revised to operate from 0745 – 0915 hours to 0815 – 0950 hours. Please refer here for more information.
