First announced by LTA on 16 June 2011, construction of the depot would commence at the end of 2012 and is expected to be an underground depot - the third in Singapore. It will serve the upcoming [[Thomson Line]] as the Operation Control Centre and provide stabling and maintenance facilities for the line's rolling stock.
