Johor Bahru, sometimes spelled Johore Bahru, is the capital of the State of Johore in peninsular Malaysia. It stands at the northern end of the Johor - Singapore Causeway that links Singapore to Malaysia.
Colloquially known both to Singaporeans and to Malaysians as JB, it is a popular place for Singaporeans to visit or shop for items that are impossible or more expensive in Singapore itself.
Transportation from Singapore[edit]
Land transport from Singapore to Johor Bahru is possible through Woodlands Checkpoint via the Johor - Singapore Causeway or through Tuas Checkpoint via the Malaysia - Singapore Second Link. Motorcycles, Cars, Buses and Trucks can use both the Causeway and Second Link while Bicycles can only use the Causeway.
