SBS Transit Bus Service 117 is an inter-town route linking the residential estates of Matilda (Punggol), Yishun, and Sembawang via the Seletar Aerospace Park. It connects residential blocks, schools, and public amenities in Punggol Neighbourhood 2, Yishun Neighbourhoods 4, 5, and 8, and Sembawang Neighbourhood 1 to Khatib, Yishun, Canberra, Sembawang, and Punggol stations, and Town Centres of Yishun, Sembawang, and Punggol. It is the only SBS Transit bus service to serve both interchanges which SBS Transit is not the main anchor. Punggol Bus Interchange main achor is Go-Ahead Singapore and Sembawang Bus Interchange main anchor is Tower Transit Singapore.

This service is the 51^st bus service introduced under the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).

On weekdays, SBS Transit Bus Service 117M ply an extended route of its parent service via Seletar Aerospace Crescent and Seletar Aerospace Link during the morning and evening peak hours.^[1] Service 117 does not operate when Service 117M is in operation.

Short-Trip Service 117A supplements the residential demand along Yishun Avenue 1 to Khatib station during the weekday morning peak hours.
