2010 Train disruption
Ten commuters were trapped on Friday in a Light Rail Transit (LRT) train on Aug 27 2010 for about 35 minutes, as heavy rain poured outside. At about 11am, the train was on its way from Fajar to Bangkit station along the Bukit Panjang LRT line when the train suddenly stopped. Trains running in the opposite direction were not affected.
SMRT, owner of SLRT, which operates the line, said the disruption was due to a track fault and not related to the weather. [1]
