David Bala (1947/1948 - 29 August 2014) was a Singaporean Tamil actor.

Career

Bala is probably best known for his roles as Muthu, a bumbling security guard in the 2007 film Just Follow Law and again in Ah Long Pte Ltd, and the longwinded Encik Muthu (unrelated to the security guard) in The Ghosts Must Be Crazy. The catchphrase 'You die! I die! Everybody die!' from the latter role became a meme.

He was also a veteran actor in Tamil productions, having starred in many Vasantham comedy drama series since 1980. His command of the Malay language also got him a role in one Malay television series. Before his foray into television screens, he was a stage actor for 4 years.

Bala died on 29 August 2014 aged 67, from heart disease, leaving behind his wife and four children. Prior to his death, he was a security guard at Republic Polytechnic, mirroring his best known role in Just Follow Law.
