The Hillyard brothers are first-generation Eurasians, born to an English father and a Chinese mother. Their first role was in the Channel 8 children's drama series Fly With Me, Buddy, at age 9 for Scott and age 11 for Louis. Both also begun performing Mandarin songs on stage as a way to improve their command of the language. Both brothers took vocal lessons at the Lee Wei Song School of Music.
