ITE College Central (ITECC) is one of the Institute of Technical Education's three Colleges under the "One ITE System, Three Colleges" Governance and Education Model. It moved into its current premises at Ang Mo Kio in December 2012, together with ITE Headquarters. This third comprehensive College covers a land area of 10.61 hectares with a total gross floor area of 192,820m2. It opened to its first cohort of students in January 2013. The campus was opened officially on 8 November 2013 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Since the opening, ITECC hosts the National Day Rally yearly.

History[edit]

Originally the ITE College Central schools were located at Bedok, Bishan, MacPherson, Tampines and Yishun until December 2012. The campus are either demolished for further development or converted for other uses.

2018 Murder[edit]

A woman was found dead at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central campus carpark on 19 July 2018.

The police said they were alerted to an incident at 7.40pm involving a man who allegedly stabbed a 56-year-old woman in the school's carpark. The case was classified as murder. The victim is Low Hwee Geok. She was the director of ITE's examinations division. The suspect is her former husband. Ms Low was found lying motionless at the scene and was pronounced dead by Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedics.

A 66-year-old male suspect was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It is understood that the suspect stabbed himself. SCDF, which sent two ambulances to the scene, said the man sustained serious injuries. The entire carpark area was cordoned off. The victim's body had not been removed and was lying between two cars. Police officers were at the scene.[1][2]
