Jurong Town Bus Services Rationalisation 1978

Introduction

On 1st June 1978, the existing bus services serving the Jurong Town area were rationalised, together with the new set of residential and industrial feeder services, which reduced unwanted duplication, off-peak wastage and route & operational constraints.

With the opening of Jurong Bus Interchange located along Jurong Port Rd, the existing trunk services originating and terminating at outlining bus terminals located within Jurong Town and Jurong Industrial Estate were amended to call at Jurong Bus Interchange.

To further enhance the convenience of commuters regularly travelling to/from or around Jurong Town, special bus services were also introduced to cater for the commuters. This includes the Special Services 404, 405 and 406 that serves the 3 tourist attractions in Jurong as well as Special Service 450 that serves Pasir Laba Camp (SAFTI) for the benefit of NSmen.
