| ==CBD to Marsiling (Bus or MRT)== | | ==Re: Alternate Travel Option Wording== |
| Hi, after comptempting your reasoning for Marsiling and done some additional research this is what I had observed:
| | * NS11: 962 Remarks: You can take the NSLFBB due to the long walking distance to Blk 680. |
| * Travelling time for 190/972 from CBD to Bukit Panjang is approx 40 mins.
| |
| * Travelling time for 187/963/966 from Bukit Panjang to Marsiling is approx 25 mins.
| |
| * Travelling time for DTL/CCL/TEL from Newton to Woodlands is approx 40 mins.
| |
| * Travelling time for 187/856/925/925M/960/961/961M/963/966 from Woodlands to Marsiling is approx 10 mins.
| |
| * Travelling time for 972M from Dhoby Ghaut to Newton is approx 10 mins.
| |
|
| |
|
| Therefore, the conclusion that I could infer is:
| | >> The walking distance may be on par with Opp Admiralty Stn bus stop as one need to turn left twice to Admiralty Stn bus stop, turn left again and walk down, cross the overhead bridge and further walk to Opp Admiralty Stn, whereas the walking path to Blk 680 bus stop is straightforward & direct (turn right and walk to road, turn left again to bus stop). |
| * Newton: MRT to Woodlands, transfer by bus is much faster (Time saving of 15 mins).
| |
| * Orchard - Dhoby Ghaut: If there is direct bus to Bukit Panjang which heavily uses BKE/PIE, then the travelling time is on par with MRT (currently).
| |
| ** The travelling time to Newton actually offset the time saving of 15 mins in the first case.
| |
|
| |
|
| Some remarks that I noticed:
| | * NS12: 962->117/M 883/M Remarks: You can take the NSLFBB due to the long travelling journey to the station. |
| * 960 to Bukit Panjang MRT is much slower than DTL, as it winds in Bukit Panjang (From BKE, go to Pending, Petir then Bukit Panjang, following the LRT tracks), where the most direct route is taken by 187, which deviate from the LRT tracks.

| | >> What do you mean long travelling time? Alternatively how about 965->Darul Mosque->Overhead bridge->169/117/883 to Canberra, will it be faster? |
| Nowadays, bus crawls on expressway. For example, in the past, I can take 858 from Khatib and reach Changi T3 within 30 mins, but nowadays its usually 45 mins, despite no traffic. I also remember there once time I regret taking 960e from Rochor to Woodlands as it took approx 1 hour (thanks to bus crawling on highway to keep to schedule). Usually, when I took 187/963/966 from Blk 270 to Woodlands, it took about 30-35 mins. So if work out to be 20-25 mins to Marsiling. I believed the speed reduction is due to the BCM on-time tracking bah. Occasionally, I manage to take trip which had what you mention the time period (driver's factor play a role). Sadly, I missed those day where buses literally speed down the expressway...

| Hi, | | Hi, |
|
| |
|
| It looks good with your suggestion, maybe we can put those alternative as the FIRST option (towards the left) and leave 70M towards the right as people are more inclined to read from left to right.
| | Thanks for your progress. I had updated the Schematic route for Woodlands station, by including coloured lines at the bottom of the icon for quick reference on the icons group, so that it would be more easier to reference the icon-pairing when viewing 2 images side by side. |

| ==Re: Stadium==
| |
| Hi,
| |
| | |
| I feel that it should be included as it shown on the map, but the walking time should be factor in as 1 had to climb and walk around the stadium circuits to reach. This may be a hassle. What about your take?

| Thanks for the site visit. I had also verified in my end. I think with frequency wise, and the offset, we can include the 2 bus stops for alternate travel options. However, due to the distance, as for nearby bus service, I don't think the station page should reflect the 2 bus stops. Furthermore, the waiting for service 11 can be use to offset the walking duration to that pair, and with that, it is almost comparable with using the pair of bus stop at Nicoll Highway to travel to the destination.

| Hi, just a quick check from your perspective, how often do these batch 1s spawn on 979 in your point of view?
| | I will update the travelling time for TEL4 asap once I timed the whole trip from Woodlands North to Bayshore and analyze first as the current Opening House could not be fully gauge (as it was sector by sector) so actual dwell time may differ. |
| Based on my checks in Bukit Panjang last month for weekdays, I have seen them going on 180, 190/A, 922, 972/M, 991 during morning peak and 3-6pm.
| |
| I have never seen them for every morning peak hour along 979 route, and occasionally only one Batch 1 will appear on 979 during evening peak at least once per week. In their place there will usually be a Euro 6 A95 and a random split shift slot for single/double decker.
| |
| Would appreciate if more checking is done, I will try relay the info from my part the best I can! Thanks and regards.
| |
| Edit: Other than the Batch 1 Euro Vs, have confirmed that all the current E500s, 5494, 5887 are still in 979 fleet on a daily basis.

| Hi, thank you for the message. From my perspective 5889E & 5890A likely still perm 979 but since as yk this 2 buses tend to do more cameos lately, we will leave it as SP for now. But in any case of it does 979 again on a slightly more common basis, will revert the edit. 979 buses does cameo other svcs sometimes especially the A95. Previously, 5887M did cameo around often but it returned back on 979 after like a month or 2. The last time the B1 appeared on 979 was last weekend. Meanwhile I will KIV these 2 buses. :)
