Bishan Bus Interchange serves the residents of Bishan New Town as the town's central transport node, offering connections with Bishan station, as well as important amenities such as Junction 8 Shopping Mall and Bishan Public Library. Opened in 1989, the interchange, known for its unique square-shaped design, catered to bus services serving the then-newly developed Bishan town. Currently, an entrance to Bishan MRT station's Circle Line platforms is located right next to the interchange.
