Alauddin Alam Shah was the last Malay Sultan of Singapore.
He was proclaimed Sultan on the death of his father Sultan Ali Iskandar Shah in Umbai, Malacca in 1877. The British, who then ruled Singapore, did not recognise his claims though he was allowed to live (with a small pension) at the Sultan's Palace in Kampong Glam, Singapore till his death in 1891. He is buried at Sultan Mosque in Singapore.
