Starter Post[edit]

Hi.

You may have known that SG3100M has recently made its revenue service debut on service 176.

I would like to know if any user have any opinion with regards to the existing naming of SG3100M's bus model page - ST Engineering Retrofitted Electric Bus.

As of today, OM still reflect this bus as of following:

  • Make / Model: MAN / NL320F (A22)
  • Chassis No.: WMAA22ZZXD7001880
  • Propellant: Electric
  • Power Rating: 231.0 kW

The following information is the currently presented in SG3100M's specification table.

  • Vehicle make: MAN
  • Vehicle manufacturer: MAN Truck & Bus (Chassis), Linkker (Drivetrain)
  • Vehicle model: NL323F (A22)
  • Vehicle bodywork: MAN Lion's City Hybrid
  • Vehicle bodywork assembler: Gemilang Coachwork
  • Electric motor model: Danfoss Editron EM-PMI375-T800-1600 synchronous reluctance assisted permanent magnet motor (dual inverter)
  • Battery: Lithium iron phosphate
  • Battery capacity: 177.5 kWh
  • Power/torque: 139 kW / 828 Nm (Continuous), 231 kW / 2100 Nm (Maximum)

The following information is the currently presented in the Linkker LM312's specification table.

  • Vehicle make: Linkker
  • Vehicle manufacturer: Linkker
  • Vehicle model: LM312
  • Vehicle bodywork: Linkker LinkLight
  • Vehicle bodywork assembler: Gemilang Coachwork
  • Electric motor model: Danfoss Editron EM-PMI375-T800-1600 permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor (dual inverter)
  • Battery: Lithium iron phosphate
  • Battery capacity: 177.5 kWh
  • Power/torque: 139 kW / 828 Nm (Continuous), 231 kW / 2100 Nm (Maximum)

You may want to consider choosing one of these options if you feel that the bus model title needs a rename.

  1. ST Engineering Retrofitted Electric Bus (remain the same)
  2. ST Engineering-Linkker Retrofitted Electric Bus
  3. MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)

Thanks a lot for participating in this poll/discussion :)

Result[edit]

SG3100M will be listed as MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric) based on majority opinions.

Your Opinion Below[edit]

Opinion 1 (by BusFan74)[edit]

Hi

My opinion for the ST Engineering Retrofitted Electric Bus is that since there are no badging in front and back of the Retrofitted Electric Bus, so my option I suggest will be option 2 because I feel that this bus retains the MAN Lion City Hybrid bodywork, it has now converted into Electric Bus, so I considered my choice to be ST Engineering-Linkker Electric Bus as my option since it was part of the ST Engineering project with Linkker to convert into a Electric Bus as a proof a concept.

Opinion 2 (by Antarcticite)[edit]

Hi.

I would feel that “MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)” would be a better representation since it does belong to the category of Batch 3 buses. Moreover, it is also once an Batch 3 A22 (SMB3075A) and putting it as ST Engineering Electric bus would mislead others into thinking that the bus is solely built by ST Engineering.

Opinion 3 (by Ihengheng)[edit]

In my opinion, I think the way forward is to consider how such buses would be listed if the trial is successful. The limitation with the current naming is that ST is not the manufacturer of the drivetrain, and even by renaming the page to solely reflect the buses as a Linkker product, the page would easily get messy if different manufacturer's buses are sent for the same conversion. As such, I feel that the best option is to either have specific pages for each converted model or by listing them under their original pages.

Hence, renaming it to "MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)" or listing the bus under the original "MAN NL323F (Euro V) (Batch 2)" page would be the most appropriate as it would accurately reflect the bus model as per LTA's official registration records. An added benefit for listing the buses under their original pages is that it would also cover situations where conversions are performed for the same model across different batches, where the buses could still be reflected as part of their original order.

Opinion 4 (by Wekelwrady)[edit]

In my opinion, I will think that "MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)" will be a suitable name, since it is still labelled as MAN A22 in OM.

Opinion 5 (by GoAheadAmbassador)[edit]

Hi,

In my opinion, I would feel that "MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)" will be a more suitable name, since it was once a Batch 2 NL323F (SMB3075A) as OneMotoring reflected it as a MAN NL323F (A22). Putting it as ST Engineering Retrofitted Electric Bus will mislead others into thinking that it is solely built by ST Engineering.

Thank you.

Opinion 6 (by Lim Jia Ting)[edit]

I honestly feel that SG3100M can be changed to "MAN NL323F (Retrofitted Electric)" as it was once a MAN A22 (Batch 2) (BSEP) bus.

Also, putting it as option 2 would confuse some as the body is a MAN Lion City Hybrid.
