Hi, there is a problem with adding links to bus models especially on Flexi Deployment services with no perms, the problem is because of the batches as each batch has its own page for it, as the bus deployments are most of the time random a link to the exact page cannot be determined.
2) Quantity count and link[edit]
Hi,
Thank you for your message regarding the trial to include the bus fleet count and linking for Bus Service 298 pages.
I would appreciate such a trial being extended to other pages, especially those involving models with multiple batches, to provide a stronger proof of concept.
I chose Bus Service 168 for a trial of the new table format due to the following reasons:
- Dual depot operations
- Combination of short trips
- A mix of single and double-decker fleets
Observations and feedback are currently being gathered before wider implementation.
Regarding your suggestions, the linking of bus models is a good approach. However, here are some considerations before selecting a page for the trial:
- If a model has multiple batches, which specific page should be linked?
- If some services have a permanent fleet alongside a flexi-deployment or are fully flexi-deployment, how should the tally counts be structured? The new services page will no longer use the term "Any Single/Double Decker Buses" but will instead specify the models operating on that service. Even with flexi-deployment, the model remains consistent, though registration plates may vary.
I hope this clarifies why the trial you proposed was initially rejected by other editors before me.
Thank you for your understanding.
