The meaning of the word Pugilism refers to the art or practice of fighting with the fists (boxing ) [1], which is widely used to refer the Chinese Martial Arts Culture.

In general, the pugilism community are mainly build up by Clans, Association or Organisation with the practise of, but not limited to, Wushu, Dragon Dance and Lion Dance. The earliest organisation in Singapore can be trace back to the year 1920.

This category will focus specifically on the history and development on local pugilism movements and the various pugilistic community in Singapore.

新加坡精武体育会1947年成立双狮团

While the Earliest Wushu Troupe aka 武术团 新加坡精武体育会1922年8月9日获政府核准注册成立

光武国术团成立于1936年

First Dragon Dance Troupe 最早把舞龙艺术介绍到新加坡来的, 是设在小坡奎因街的福州木帮工会,他们于1927年成立了一个舞龙队,舞龙手都是榕籍木工。
