Khatib

Khatib, also known as Yishun South, is a precinct located in Yishun. It is bounded in a clockwise direction by Yishun Avenue 3, Yishun Central, Yishun Avenue 11, Yishun Ring Road, Yishun Street 41, Lower Seletar Reservoir (waterbody), Yishun Avenue 1, and Sembawang Road.

Etymology

Khatib was named after the nearby Sungei Khatib Bongsu. The name “Khatib” originates from Arabic (Arabic: خاطب), referring to the person who delivers the sermon during Friday prayers and Eid Prayers.
