The Regional Language Centre, or RELC for short, is an academic organisation in Singapore.

Description[edit]

The RELC was founded as an educational project of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), to assist in development of language teacher education for the region. When inaugurated in 1970, the centre was named the Regional English Language Centre. In 1977, the name was changed to its present-day title, to reflect its expanded role in language teacher education, that was no longer limited to education of English Language teachers.

The RELC Examination Bureau is an examination board under the RELC, responsible for the administration of examinations, most notably, for the University of London International Programmes.

Hotel[edit]

The RELC offices are located in a building in the downtown Orchard area, sharing its premises with a hotel.
