Banning of Users or Imposing of Warning Points can be issued by Administrator(s) to any users, including anonymous user(s). Do not feel discouraged at first for new users as this usually implies that you have made a disruptive editing(s) most of the time. Typically, banning will only last for a few days for users to reflect on their editing mistake(s). All editors believe that it is important to give a second chance to errant editor(s).

Requesting a Ban in Users

Non-administrator editor(s) who notice any users who performed any disruptive editing may request for a ban for the user. They could either perform in any of the two steps to request:

Option 1
1. Go to an Administrator Talk Page.
2. Start a new discussion about the user and provide reason/evidence for the disruptive editing.

Option 2
1. Go the the user Talk Page.
2. Add the following code at the top of the talk page: Code

{{Block User|@= [User Name]}}

Notes: User Name is the name of errant editor(s)

Non-administrator editor(s) should not remove the template from any talk page. This does not warrant to an immediate ban/warning points imposed. However, affected editor(s) should follow sgWiki Guidebook procedure(s) to get the template removed by an administrator.

Appeals of Warning Points/Bans

Definition

(a) Prosecutor refers to Administrators
(b) Convict refers to the Errant Editor(s)
(c) General refers to any other Editor(s)

Prosecutor Appeal

A Prosecutor Appeal will be used when any administrator feels that the penalties imposed to the convict are not appropriate. It is the most common type of Appeal in sgWiki. The outcome of this appeal usually ends up with lighter penalties imposed or a withdrawal of penalties.

Typically, the Administrators will inform the other administrators of their opinion through the talk page before performing any task.

Convict Appeal

A Convict Appeal is when the user feels that the penalties imposed to them are not appropriate. They are required to proceed to Dispute page to appeal their claim. Such appeals do not warrant heavier penalties. A lighter penalty or a withdrawal of penalties may be imposed after the outcome of the Appeal.

General Appeal

A General Appeal is when any bystander who feels that the penalties imposed to them are inappropriate. They are required to proceed to Dispute page to state their claim and make an appeal. The outcome of the appeal(s) could lengthen or shorten the duration of penalties but will not be lifted.

Conclusion

Do take note that any appeal(s) made will be reviewed by an administrator. Some of the reviews may include investigating your claim through your previous editing. Please do not spam or annoy the administrator during the appeal process as this may disrupt the investigation process. The penalties may be extended as a result.

Warning Point

A Warning Point will be awarded to any errant editors as a form of reminder. This usually occurs when repeated disruptive editing occurs. If you had performed a single disruptive editing incident and was awarded with a Warning Point, you may appeal against the Warning Point.

Warning Points may last for a minimum of 60 days from the date it was imposed. Multiple Warning Points may be imposed for the same instance. However, more Warning Points imposed will result in a faster rate of receiving a ban. Non-administrator editor(s) should not add or remove Warning Point from any talk page.
