The existing bus services serving the Jurong Town area was rationalised on 1st June 1978. A new set of residential and industrial feeder services were also introduced to reduce unwanted duplication, off-peak wastage and route constraints.<br>

With the opening of Jurong Bus Interchange located along Jurong Port Rd, the existing trunk services, previously originating and terminating at various bus terminus located within Jurong Town and Jurong Industrial Estate were amended to Jurong Bus Interchange.<br>
