Yishun is located in the north and is bounded in a clockwise direction by Sungei Simpang Kiri (waterbody), Yishun Avenue 8, Lower Seletar Reservoir, Yishun Avenue 1, and Sembawang Road. It is made up of 4 precinct, Chong Pang, Khatib, Yishun East, and Yishun Town Centre (also known as Yishun).
Etymology[edit]
The name Yishun (Chinese: 义顺) is the Mandarin Chinese transliteration of "Nee Soon", named after Lim Nee Soon (Chinese: 林義順), a well-known industrialist who amassed his wealth through rubber and pineapple plantations in the area.[1]
