R151: 1807/1808 or 807/808

Hi,

I had revert your edit regards the R151 trains denotation to have a prefix with 1.

I understand your viewport from the perspective of OCC where there is no prefix of 1.

Here is my take:

The current R151 will consist of 106 trains, meaning there are 212 trains set numbering.

Given the following numbering from 801 (801/802) to 998 (997/998), there consists of only 198 sets, or 99 trains only, falling short of the 7 additional trains. We do not know what going to happen next, but there may be a possibility the LTA or even SMRT would even go back for some of the trains set to use the 001/002 regions for the remaining 7 trains. This means that 001/002 can mean both the decommissioned KHI and the R151 trains.

Secondly, my take on why LTA uses 5 numbering systems for the R151 trains is because, in the event of fault reporting per train car, it is much easier to distinguish between the CCL trains (which use the 800 series) already with the R151 trains, both operate under SMRT. So in conclusion, the best course I would feel, is to remain the '1' prefix for now and have our fingers crossed when all 106 R151 trains are in operational service.

Free Bridging Bus Service Operator

Hi,

I noticed you've colour-coded the Free Bridging Bus Service (FBB) operators as SBST/SMRT/TTS/GAS based on the BCM/sector. Just a quick clarification that this kind of colour-coding isn't quite appropriate.

When an FBB is activated, any operator may be deployed to run the service, not just the one closest to or associated with the bus package. The operator listed on the FBB page usually refers to the anchor operator, meaning they're responsible for provisioning and training for that sector. However, LTA/Rail OCC can activate any operator depending on availability and operational needs.

So while certain operators may take the lead in readiness, the actual operations aren't restricted to them. Colour-coding by operator can give the wrong impression of exclusivity.

I feel that the new page introduced by supernutorcrazy should not replace this page. Firstly, this page has been running since 2000s and is widely known around the community and used by members of the public so closing/blanking this page is not recommended. Remember the ArthurJie fight for Advertisements pages? look at his page, editthis.info, its so laggy and the data was destroyed. So for now, I feel it's best to keep whatever is here and not delete it. The new page can be a temporary duplicate of this page until Jason, the owner, can allow more new and active administrators to counter the autoblocks (priority issue now). I'm nominating myself to be a administrator to counter this autoblock issue.
