Formatting of Short-Trip Permanent Buses

Since permanent buses for Short-Trip Services 7A and 7B are classified as 'BNDEP 7A/7*' and 'BBDEP 7B/7*' respectively, why are permanent buses for Short-Trip Service 170A classified as 'UPDEP 170A' instead of 'UPDEP 170A/170*'? Hope you could reply to my query. I feel that the formatting for such services should be standardised. Thank you.
