Swapping of Station Codes[edit]

Hi,

Please stop the unnecessary swapping of stations code and the addition of certain false information. Bahar Junction station, despite being a start/stop for the Jurong West Extension, it itself is not a Terminus as the extension as the Main line is connected to the Jurong West Extension (i.e. to say, the last station of the Jurong West Extension is not Bahar Junction, but Choa Chu Kang and Jurong Pier on the Mainline, similiar to the Circle Line extension (which is Stadium, despite officially starts at Promenade).

Secondly, under the Cross Region Line Punggol Extension, the station Pasir Ris was not included as it is from the main line, which explain why the list was not repeated under the Punggol Extension.

Thirdly, the swapping of Riveria and Punngol stations codes to PE4/CP3 and NE17/PTC/CP4 respectively. I understand your intention to make it look more better by sorting it according to the opening sequence, but this may cause lots of confusion because most of the code we see/use today differs.

  • Jurong East
    • Historical Order: EW24/NS1
    • Current Order: NS1/EW24 (Standardised with NS25/EW13 & NS26/EW14)
  • City Hall
    • Historical & Current Order: NS25/EW13
  • Raffles Place
    • Historical & Current Order: NS26/EW14
  • Bukit Panjang
    • Historical Order: BP6/DT1
    • Current Order: DT1/BP6 (Standardised with NS4/BP1, NE17/PTC)
  • Sengkang
    • Historical Order: STC/NE16
    • Current Order: NE16/STC
  • Punggol
    • Historical Order: NE17/PTC/CP4
    • Current Order: NE17/CP4/PTC
  • Choa Chu Kang
    • Historical Order: NS4/BP1/JS1
    • Current Order: NS4/JS1/BP1

The trigger point is the code for Jurong East vs City Hall/Raffles Place as this involved the same two lines, but with different notation. 2 of it uses North South Line first follow by East West Line, but Jurong East itself is East West Line first follow by North South Line. Vice-versa, if and only if the Changi Airport Extension on the East West Line merged into Thomson East Coast Line, then the station code for Expo will be TE##/DT35 which is confusing as Stevens station is DT10/TE11 (The swapping of order).

That is why we used the following way of identifying station codes:

  • MRT first in the order: NSL, EWL, NEL, CCL, DTL, TEL, JRL, CRL
  • LRT last in the order: BPLRT, SKLRT, PGLRT.
