1974 Bus Rationalisation

Introduction

The first bus rationalisation was conducted on 3rd February 1974, after the merger of the 3 bus companies - the Amalgamated Bus Company (ABC), the Associated Bus Services (ABS) and the United Bus Company (UBC) to form the Singapore Bus Services (SBS). This was necessary, on which the existing bus services were rationalised and adjusted accordingly to reduce route duplication.
