	From 30 June 2024 to 21 July 2024, train services on the North East Line will start later at 8am on Sundays. This is to facilitate the integrated testing of systems for the opening of the new Punggol Coast Station. Please refer here From Sunday, 14 July 2024, Service 410G will be amended to ply Bishan St 23, calling at new bus stop in front of Blk 228 (53439). In addition, it will also start earlier at 5:25am on weekdays and 5:40am on weekends and public holidays from the bus stop at Blk 454 Sin Ming Ave (53369). Please refer here for more information.

Braddell (NS18) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North–South Line.

History

Construction Design

When the MRT system was built in the 1980s, majority of the stations were designed to have an island platform. However, the closely built HDB Blocks in the area meant that the train tunnels had to be constructed directly under Lorong 2 Toa Payoh, following the bend of the road. The result made it impossible for tracks to diverge at a common platform station, as the angle Southbound trains would turn when approaching and leaving the station would be too great.

It would be unfeasible to change the position of the station, because moving it south would render it too close to Toa Payoh station, while moving it north would be impossible because of surrounding HDB blocks and JTC Flatted factories. This position would be the best for the station, it was thus built with side platforms.
