It has a land area of approximately 9.17km2, and ranks 36th, 18th and 17th in terms of population, size and density. It is situated south of Toa Payoh, west of Geylang, northwest of Marine Parade, north of Marina East, northeast of the Downtown Core, east of Rochor and Newton, and southeast of Novena.
