Bukit Merah is a planning area and a new residential town located in the Central Region of Singapore. It has a land area of about 14.34 km2, Bukit Merah ranks the 17th, 10th & 18th in terms of size, population & density respectively. Bukit Merah shares a maritime boundary with the Southern Islands planning area located beyond its southernmost point. Bukit Merah is the most populated planning area in the Central Region.
Bukit Merah is located at the southenmost part of Singapore's Central region and is made out of 11 subzones, namely, Alexandra, Bukit Ho Swee, Bukit Merah Central, Depot Road, Everton Park, HarbourFront, Henderson, Redhill, Singapore General Hospital, Telok Blangah and Tiong Bahru. It is bordered by Queenstown to the northwest, Tanglin to the north, Southern Islands to the south and Central Area to the northeast.
