Kallang is a planning area and residential town located in the Central Region of Singapore. It has a land area of approximately 9.17km2, and ranks 36th, 18th and 17th in terms of population, size and density. It is situated south of Toa Payoh, west of Geylang, northwest of Marine Parade, north of Marina East, northeast of the Downtown Core, east of Rochor and Newton, and southeast of Novena.
This area houses the main sports facilities for athletes, as well as the Singapore Sports Hub, where lots of cultural and sporting events are held.
Kallang planning area is made up of 9 subzones, namely Kampong Java, Kallang Bahru, Kampong Bugis, Tanjong Rhu, Lavender, Boon Keng, Crawford, Geylang Bahru and Bendemeer.
