Downtown Core

The Downtown Core is a planning area and an urban area in the Central Singapore Region. It has a land area of approximately 4.34km2, and ranks 44th, 32nd & 34th in terms of size, population and density respectively. It is situated south of Rochor, southwest of Kallang, west of Marina East and Marina South, northwest of Straits View, as well as east of Bukit Merah, Outram, Museum and Singapore River.

As the main commercial area of the city state of Singapore, offices of innumerable companies and coporations are located in this area. This area also holds main government buildings, such as the Parliament of Singapore.

The Downtown Core is located within the Central Area of the Central Region of Singapore and is made out of 8 subzones, namely Anson, Cecil, Clifford Pier, Maxwell, Phillip, Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar and Marina Bay.
