Jurong East is a planning area and residential town in Singapore's Western Region. It has a land area of about 17.83km2, and ranks 11th, 22nd & 28th in terms of size, population & density respectively. It is bordered by Jurong West and Boon Lay to the west, Clementi to the east, Tengah and Bukit Batok to the north and Selat Jurong to the south.
Jurong East is made up of 10 subzones, namely Jurong Port, Penjuru Crescent, Jurong River, Teban Gardens, Lakeside, Jurong Gateway, International Business Park, Toh Guan, Yuhua East & Yuhua West.
Jurong East New Town is a new town is situated withn the Jurong planning area. Built by the Housing and Development Board, it constitutes two main areas, with the first bounded by the Pan Island Expressway, a canal and the shoreline of Jurong Lake, Jurong Town Hall Road, Jurong East Street 11, Jurong East Street 21, across a field north of the IMM Building, and up along Toh Guan Road back to the Pan Island Expressway. The second section includes the Teban Gardens and Pandan Gardens estates, bounded by the Ayer Rajah Expressway, Penjuru Road, West Coast Road, and Sungei Pandan.
