	Train services between Tanjong Rhu and Bayshore stations (Thomson–East Coast Line Stage 4) will begin on Sunday, 23 June 2024. Free rides are available between these stations on Friday, 21 June 2024. Please refer here for more information. It only operates on Weekdays (except Public Holidays) during morning peak hours. Short Trip 86B will start from Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 (B/S 55181 (Opp Yio Chu Kang Stn)) and will terminate at Jln Kayu (B/S 68111 (Bef Seletar Camp G)). From 30 June 2024 to 21 July 2024, train services on the North East Line will start later at 8am on Sundays. This is to facilitate the integrated testing of systems for the opening of the new Punggol Coast Station. Please refer here From Sunday, 14 July 2024, Service 410G will be amended to ply Bishan St 23, calling at new bus stop in front of Blk 228 (53439). Political influence

As Potong Pasir station was located in the Potong Pasir SMC, a former opposition ward managed by the Singapore People's Party until 2011, it was one of the stations most involved in the political scenario of Singapore. The intended name for the station was actually Sennett, mainly because of such political reasons. It seemed that the route planners did not want the station to sound synonymous with the estate. It was also rumoured to continue staying closed when the North East Line opened in 2003. During the 2001 General Election, Chiam See Tong and Sitoh Yih Pin of the Singapore People's Party and the People's Action Party respectively, both dangled the station as a carrot, and promised the residents that they would appeal for the station to be opened should they be voted into office, as part of their publicity campaigns. However, even though the opposition won the seat, the station was eventually opened and was renamed Potong Pasir to avoid confusion with Sennett Estate (which was located along Upper East Coast Road).
