	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train Services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. There will be no train service on the East–West Line between Tampines station and Tanah Merah station with Simei station being closed. This is to prepare for the opening of the new East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) in 2026, LTA and SMRT will be undertaking a series of works to facilitate the connection of tracks from the existing East–West Line to the ECID. From Sunday, 8 December 2024, Bus Services 84G & 84W will each call at an additional bus stop outside and opposite Blk 437B respectively. Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 8 December 2024, Short-trip 138C will be introduced, operating from the bus stop along Mandai Lake Road, in front of the Singapore Zoo (48131) and terminating at the bus stop along Upper Thomson Road, in front of Springleaf Station Exit 2 (56099). Short-trip 138C will operate only on weekends and Public Holidays, from 2.45pm to 7.00pm. Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 8 December 2024, two bus stops along Kim Seng Road, The Trillium (13139) and Opp Great World City (13119), will be merged and relocated permanently to Great World Stn Exit 3 (13119). Redhill (EW18) is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East–West Line. This is the only MRT station in which the two platforms are not parallel to each other due to space constraint.

History

2004 incident

On 31 August 2004, a lady in her 40s was hit by a train after she fell on to the tracks. She suffered head injuries and was sent to the Singapore General Hospital. This incident took place just hours after another train hit another lady in her 50s earlier in the day at Bukit Batok station.

2010 incident

On 18 May 2010, eastbound train services between Outram Park and Queenstown stations were disrupted for about 45 minutes when a passenger was hit by a train at 11.35am. Close to 5,500 passengers were affected by the incident and train services resumed at about 12.20pm.
