Mitsubishi Heavy Industries C810 (Crystal Mover) is an automated people mover (APM) train built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the use on the Sengkang LRT and Punggol LRT lines. These trains are mainly for airport and light rail applications, operating by Automatic Train Control (ATC), making it fully automatic and driverless.
Fleet Numbering
The car numbers of the trains range from 01 to 41.
16 of the 41 existing trains will be undergoing modification for two-car vehicle operation to meet the future demand for the Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines.

Operation
The C810 trains are fully automated, without attendant, running on a system.

Trains can be coupled for two-car operations during Peak Hours.

Features
The C810 trains have similar features to the C801 trains, but with a more futuristic design (as required by the Land Transport Authority) to complement the futuristic new towns of Sengkang and Punggol.

Trainset numbers
References
Individual cars are given a two-digit serial number by the rail operator, SBS Transit, ranging from 01 to 41.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries C810 are the first generation of trains running on the Sengkang LRT and the Punggol LRT.

History

Between 2013 and 2015, 16 car were modified to be coupled for 2-car operations. Modifications are required to the signalling system and trains for dual-car service. Two seats from both ends of the train car were replaced with a signalling box, housing the new signalling equipment. The dual-car train system was commissioned for revenue service in 2016.

Cracks

On 9 September 2016, SBS Transit has announced that 11 trains had hairline cracks.[1] This is barely 2 months after announcements that cracks were found in C151A and subsequently C801 trains. All trains had it's bogie frames replaced and strengthen to prevent similar incident from happening again.
