	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train Services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. There will be no train service between Tampines station and Tanah Merah station with Simei station being closed. This is to prepare for the opening of the new East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) in 2026, LTA and SMRT will be undertaking a series of works to facilitate the connection of tracks from the existing East–West Line to the ECID. From Monday, 25 November 2024, City Direct Service 674 will be introduced from Tengah Drive to the Central Business District (CBD), operating during morning and evening peak hours. Please refer here for more information. From Monday, 25 November 2024, City Direct Service 666 will be extended to Bayfront Avenue, Temasek Avenue, Temasek Boulevard and Raffles Boulevard. 2008 Train Disruptions

On 21 January 2008, a maintenance works train which was carrying out works between Tampines and Simei (westbound) broke down, causing a disruption from 5.28am to 12.45pm on both direction from Pasir Ris and Tanah Merah, affecting 57,000 commuters. SMRT was fined $387,176 on 10 March 2008 after the LTA's investigations concluded that the disruption was due to SMRT's working party not complying with operating procedures. This was specifically on securing the parked portion of the maintenance train, which comprised a locomotive and a wagon. The fine was the largest ever for a rail related incident in Singapore. According to operating procedures, during maintenance works, the portion comprising a locomotive and a Rail Grinding Vehicle will proceed with its works, while the portion of the maintenance train is detached and parked at a distance from the working zone. However, investigations from LTA and SMRT showed that SMRT did not apply the locomotive's parking brake. There was also no wheel chock placed to prevent movement along the gradient of the track. If SMRT had followed operating procedures, a roll-back would have been prevented.

  Comprising a white round structure and a orange-red long one, this set of large geometrical forms brings a sense of calm and order into the station environment. The shapes on the wall are complemented by reflecting benches on the platform, creating a sense of symmetry.
